ROCKFIELD FOUNDATION, INC. RAISES FUNDS TOWARD $1.5 MILLION IN BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT VENUE
The Rockfield Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce planned improvements to its current facility. The proposed project is to replace a temporary tent-like structure with a permanent structure that complements the Manor’s historic architecture. Rockfield Manor was built over a hundred years ago and this addition will ensure it will be enjoyed by all for many decades to come. After an extensive review process, the Rockfield Foundation has selected and is under contract by ADW-Architectural Design Works, Inc. and KasCon, Inc. to complete this project. The scope of the job will be led by a sub-committee appointed by the Rockfield Foundation Board of Directors, who will work with both the architectural and construction management resources. Groundbreaking is planned for November 2024.
The project is expected to take 6-8 months and will be completed by July 2025. In its current state, the structure requires costly annual maintenance and is not weathertight which subjects it to elements in poor weather conditions. The new addition will be climate controlled, be protected from the elements and create a sound barrier for neighboring homes. “The Foundation has been hard at work raising money for the addition. The project will be funded by money raised from the Rockfield Foundation. With the support of Senator J.B. Jennings, Senator Mary Dulany- James, Delegate Teresa Riley, Delegate Mike Griffith, and Delegate Susan McComas, the Rockfield Foundation was awarded an additional $300,000 bond bill from the State of Maryland. This project will continue to positively affect the business community by providing services for the events that take place on the campus throughout the year. The Rockfield Foundation is supported by a strong volunteer community.

Rockfield Manor and surrounding parks are owned by the Town of Bel Air and supported by a longstanding partnership with the Rockfield Foundation. The Foundation funds and maintains the estate through donations, grants and by hosting private and public events. “Rockfield Manor is a wonderful amenity for our Town and plays a large role for so many people in our community.
